Dermal Fillers

dermal filler - Juvederm - before and after

As part of the aging process, our skin stretches and loses some of its elasticity and the face loses some of its subcutaneous fat. As a result, the skin looks loose, and we lose the plump skin we had in our youth.

Dermal fillers replace the fat we lose and help to restore the full appearance of our face. In addition, fillers serve as a buffer between our facial muscles and our skin. This buffer reduces the impact of the constant muscle movement of the face and fills indentations and lines left in the skin

What until recently could only be corrected by an invasive and expensive surgery can now be corrected by Juvederm and Restylane, the two derma filler brands that revolutionized cosmetic surgery since they were introduced to the market at the beginning of the millennium.

Time to results: 1-10 days.

The most common dermal fillers in the US are manufactured and distributed by a handful of pharmaceutical vendors. The Juvederm line and Kybella are produced and distributed by Allergan and Restylane by Galderma. Other products are Radiesse, Belotero, Prevelle, Artefill, and Sculptra.

Most of these products address the same facial areas such as the Nassolabian lines, vertical upper and lower lip lines, and cheeks. Cost, lasting results, and personal preference are the most common differences between the various products. Also, an experienced injector may prefer one product over another in specific situations. For example...

Static vs. Dynamic Lines

Static Lines - Lines/wrinkles visible at rest.
(usually treated by dermal fillers)

Dynamic Lines - Lines visible with forceful movement of muscles. (usually treated by Botox)

  • restores cheek volume
  • reduces creases and wrinkles
  • enhances lips
  • rejuvenates hands
  • corrects scars

What WE DID WELL

(Answers:674)

We liked that Dr. Ringpfeil explained everything to us and made my daugther (almost 6 yo) feel very comfortable in the office. She was very friendly, kind and professional.

#12026-04-04

very comfortable, pleasant office setting

#22025-08-12

I was particularly impressed with the doctor and her exam...more thorough than I had previously experienced elsewhere.

#32025-11-25

The doctor answered all of my questions and concerns

#42025-06-13

I didn't have to wait at all to be shown to the back. The physician anticipated all of my questions and was very nice.

#52025-09-17

IN ADDITION TO THE EXCELLENT ENVIRONMENT AND STAFF AND DOCTOR, THE MUSIC WAS ALSO EXCELLENT AND SOOTHING. sOME OFFICES HAVE AWFUL MUSIC STREAMING.

#62010-11-11 15:36:56

I liked how she listened to my issues and is addressing them aggressively. I've seen too many Dermatologists who don't seem to know how to go about treating me.

#72025-09-16

Every aspect was oustanding, most importantly the expertise of the physician.

#82026-01-25

Information provided by doctor.

#92025-06-28

Was able to get an appointment on the same day. Staff worked deligently to assist with my referral

#102011-05-27 10:56:18

What can we do better?

(answers:373)

you cannot serve me any better than I was served today

#12026-03-17

It's a little warm in the office.

#22025-09-20

I'm speechless!! I make a living at answering this very question but I can't recommend anything you can do to provide better service. You deserve a high score in all aspects of the practice. One minor detail - I have not yet seen the aesthetician and I have limited experience with you. Maybe patients could complete a survey after they've had a couple of appointments and contact with others. Some valuable feedback may be provided. Oops....I just heard an administrator use the word "cancellation" with a patient. May I suggest other terms like "change in the schedule" or "we'll make time for you". Wouldn't want to give patients the idea that it's ok to cancel. :-) Can you recommend a vascular specialist closer to the area than in Center City?

#32011-06-02 14:18:32

There is a problem with availability of parking during busy week days.

#42025-10-11

I had problems with my insurance. Since you took my insurance information over the phone it might have been nice to know that before I came in so I could have fixed it.

#52011-05-19 10:14:50

No room for improvement

#62025-11-13

No changes needed.

#72025-05-18

Everything was well above my expecatations.

#82025-09-27

No complaints at all, but since you asked, receptionist today could have been "warmer"

#92010-08-25 10:41:35

You were amazing
